Samsung Galaxy A05 launches as India's latest ~US$120 Android smartphone

Samsung has just unveiled the Galaxy A05 as its latest smartphone for the Indian market. The new 4G/LTE-only device boasts a 60Hz display of the same size as its slightly higher-end, triple camera ring A05s sibling, although it is HD+ rather than FHD+ in this case.

Then again, the A05 might still be an option for fans of a 5,000mAh battery, which might indeed exhibit "All-day Stamina" as advertised thanks to a MediaTek Helio G85 platform and slightly outdated One UI 5.1-based OS.

The Galaxy A05 also hangs on to a microSD card slot - which, as it starts with just 64GB of internal storage to go with its 4GB of RAM, is a good thing. That base model SKU starts at INR 9,999 (~US$120) - albeit due to an introductory 20% discount, whereas the only other 6GB/128GB option is now priced at INR 12,499 (~US$150).

Those hoping to pick a new Galaxy A05 up along with the rest of their Cyber Monday Amazon.in haul will be disappointed as Samsung has made the smartphone a Croma exclusive on its launch. Then again, a new A05s, which has at least 128GB of internal storage, starts at INR 13,999 (~US$162, or 16% off its list price) for a limited time instead.
