Corsair has announced the MP600 Micro, an M.2 2242 and PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD. Offering up to 4,300 MB/s sequential write and 5,100 MB/s sequential read speeds, the Corsair MP600 Micro retails for $74.99 and is available now in multiple markets.

Corsair has expanded its MP600 SSD series with the Micro, an M.2 2242 and 3D TLC NAND drive that complements the M.2 2230 and M.2 2280 equivalents it already offers. Stylised as the MP600 MICRO, the SSD conforms to the PCIe Gen4 x4 standard for up to 4,300 MB/s sequential write and 5,100 MB/s sequential read speeds. Thus, the MP600 Micro is slower than the MP600 Pro NH, which peaks at 6,500 MB/s and 7,000 MB/s, respectively.

Additionally, the MP600 Micro is rated for 300 MB/s faster sequential read speeds than the smaller MP600 Core Mini (M.2 2230). For some reason, Corsair also rates the MP600 Micro as having 500 MB/s slower sequential write speeds than the MP600 Core Mini. For reference, Corsair states that the MP600 Micro should consume 4.3 W on average and is rated for up to 1,500,000 hours MTBF (mean time between failures).

Moreover, the SSD can operate at 0°C to +65°C and in 93% relative humidity (RH) (40 °C). While Corsair appears to have designed the MP600 Micro for Lenovo Legion Go storage upgrades, the SSD should be compatible with any system that accepts M.2 2242 drives. At launch, Corsair charges $74.99 for the MP600 Micro in the US and £79.99 in the UK. With that being said, Amazon is already charging $69.99, seemingly at a permanent discount.
