The Vivo X100 series are on the brink of their launch as new high-end, Zeiss camera Android smartphones. Their OEM might just announce their Chinese-market pricing and availability tomorrow (November 13, 2023) - however, it might also confirm that a global release is coming, according to a new leak.
The potentially FOMO-busing tip asserts that the X100 and X100 Pro will come to India at some point. Furthermore, both devices will allegedly bring new top-end 2023 silicon to the country.
It might not be the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 - but it might do just as well, as it is tipped to be the same MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC as the X100-series units thought to be unleashed on the Chinese market.
That rumor is based on the discovery of the same 2 new Vivo model numbers allegedly spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website on Geekbench, both with the same up-to-3.25GHz processor and an Android 14-based UI.
Then again, one of them (the V2308) has arguably flunked its initial benchmarking tests, with particularly disappointing single-core scores, especially compared to what we have come to expect from the 9300 thanks to its sibling the V2309.
The result might yet be an outlying once-off, yet is particularly jarring as the only difference between the 2 is that the V2308 has 12GB of RAM, compared to 16GB in the V2309. Accordingly, the former is now thought to be the vanilla X100, whereas the latter might launch as the X100 Pro.
Hopefully, the performance of both will be fully refined by the time they are ready to ship to their putative worldwide destinations.
