While it launched a little over three years ago, the Meta Quest 2 is still a great entry-level virtual reality headset, as the company stated that it will continue to be supported "for quite a while." Now, it can be had for cheaper than ever, thanks to a sizeable discount on Amazon.
The Meta Quest 2 is a standalone VR headset, meaning users don't have to remain tethered to a PC or console. Powering it is a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 SoC paired with 6 GB of LPDDR4X RAM, while the displays have a resolution of 1,832 x 1,920 each and a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz.
The headset weighs just 503 grams and comes with a fabric strap. It features a USB-C port and a 3.5 mm headphone jack on the side, along with support for WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0. Also included in the standard package are a couple of Oculus Touch controllers.
The Quest 2 can play over 100 games natively, including well-known titles such as Beat Saber and Among Us VR. Additionally, it supports Quest Link (USB) and Air Link (WiFi), allowing the headset to be used with compatible software on a PC.
The Meta Quest 2 with 128 GB of storage currently goes for just US$249 on Amazon US, a 17% decrease from its list price of US$299.99. If you'd rather have more storage (it's non-expandable), the 256 GB model is also on sale for only US$299.
