Meta Quest: VR headset gets a price cut, accessories also become cheaper
Just a few months ago, Meta presented the Meta Quest 3, the new generation of its own VR headset that can also be used autonomously. Now, the company has announced a price reduction for the Meta-Quest 2. Specifically, the Meta Quest 2 with 128 GB of storage is now available for under $250, while the model with twice as much memory will cost around $300. Refurbished VR headsets will also be offered at lower prices.
The price reduction not only includes the VR headsets themselves, but also the accessories. The Quest 2 Elite Strap is now available for $50, while the Elite Strap with a rechargeable battery is now only $90. The Activity and Fit Packs are also now available at a reduced price.
Meta's announcement to the press and community exclusively refers to its products on the US market, at least for the time being. Whether the corresponding Meta products are also cheaper outside the US is uncertain: some countries such as Germany already offer Meta products at reduced prices.
Meta Quest 3, which is available in a bundle with Asgarth's Wrath 2 for $499, comes with an updated SoC and a higher resolution. The RAM is also larger and WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 are now supported.
