The iQOO 12 and 12 Pro are currently being hyped as the world's next Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered Android smartphones. They will be the latest in a line of BMW-branded premium handsets, the full line-up of which are often quite hard to get at outside of China - although that might not be the case in 2023.
The 12 series' rumored charging tech shake-up has yet to be confirmed - however, iQOO may or may not have alluded to it in one of its recent Weibo-based previews. The brand has announced that the successors to the 11 and 11 Pro will come "equipped with super graphite batteries" that might help combine the advantages of prolonged screen-on time and a slim form-factor.
That upgrade is now touted to be available in the 12 as well as the 12 Pro, as will iQOO's new 1/1.3-inch 50MP main camera. The vanilla variant will also definitely launch with the same 8 Gen 3 as its top-end sibling, according to a new Geekbench leak.
In an awkward twist, the 12, or "V2307A" seems to have consistently beaten its sibling (or "V2329A") in this benchmark thus far with the same specs (a new Android 14-based UI and 16GB of RAM). Therefore, any advantages of the 12 Pro moniker remain to be seen until their imminent November 2023 reveal.
