iQOO is about to unleash its latest flagship smartphone on markets such as India, according to a new leak. Better yet, even if this launch only involves the vanilla version of the new 12 series, its global edition will launch with a new rear camera hump replete with dual 50MP shooters, 120W charging and the brand's latest BMW-branded colorway options.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered premium smartphone (or, perhaps, smartphones) could also ship with Funtouch OS 14 out of the box, according to typically knowledgeable leaker Ishan Agarwal. The Android 14-based skin is also backed to launch with a "3+4" upgrade.
That is likely to translate to 3 years of updates and a further year of security patch upgrades: a potential pathway to fully-supported Android 17 still not matched by every brand in the market, as Agarwal notes. Not only that, Funtouch OS 14 is also now slated to drop the iQOO pre-installs that, despite their official description of "Hot Apps" and "Hot Games", is equally likely to be viewed as "bloatware" by its predecessors' users.
