RedMagic has presented the Realm, a new QD-OLED gaming monitor aimed at eSports gamers. According to its promotional material, the RedMagic Realm utilises a Samsung Display-derived panel that measures 49-inches across and has a 1800R curvature. Additionally, the monitor operates natively at 5,120 x 1,440, 240 Hz and has 0.03 ms response times aided by AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-SYNC technologies. Also, RedMagic has equipped the Realm with the following I/O:
- 1x 3.5 mm jack
- 2x 5 W speakers
- 2x DisplayPort 1.4
- 1x HDMI 2.1
- 2x USB Type-A
- 1x USB Type-B
- 1x USB Type-C (90 W Power Delivery)
Moreover, RedMagic boasts that the gaming monitor delivers 1,000 nits peak brightness and an excellent contrast ratio by virtue of being an OLED panel. However, it appears that the RedMagic Realm has been certified to VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400, an award that guarantees 400 nits peak brightness but 50x greater dynamic range than DisplayHDR 1000. At any rate, the RedMagic Realm should provide decent colour accuracy thanks to 99% DCI-P3 colour space coverage.
So far, RedMagic has only confirmed Chinese pricing and has offered no details about a global release. For reference, the RedMagic Realm will start at CNY 9,499 (~US$1,330) or CNY 8,999 (~US$1,260) with a promotional offer. Incidentally, RedMagic has also unveiled the 5088 Partition, a smaller alternative that integrates Mini LED backlights. Please see our corresponding launch article for more details about RedMagic's other new gaming monitor.
