iQOO mid-range smartphone design refresh presented in new leak
iQOO has spent generations trying to camuflage the standard-issue dual camera ring look with enlarged glass windows in both its premium and premium mid-range devices - but no longer, according to a new leak. The well-informed leaker Digital Chat Station has the brand switching to a considerably updated look in an upcoming mid-tier device.
The alleged Neo9 still has a camera hump divided into 2 - however, it is split into new shapes possibly intended to echo the single squircle of the new flagship 12 series. Despite their combined size as outlined in Digital Chat Station's new "schematic", they are tipped to fit in with the Neo9's allegedly streamlined design language.
The updated iQOO camera hump may be paired to a new two-toned rear panel with "quad-curved" glass with an updated texture to improve grip. Nevertheless, the Neo9 may be no compact smartphone, with a "narrow bezel" display of the same size as the 12 or 12 Pro.
Now that those top-end smartphones are out there - and possibly about to go global soon - this "first-class" device could follow them as extremely late-2023 (or early 2024) successors to the Neo8 series.
