iQOO 12 with Xiaomi-esque camera hump emerges in new hands-on leak
A new image purporting to show a new premium Android smartphone with an extra-large camera hump protruding from one corner of the rear panel: a description that could easily apply to the upcoming Xiaomi 14 Pro as rendered thus far. However, according to its Weibo-based source, this new tip actually pertains to the iQOO 12 instead.
Should that be the case, it would succeed a smartphone with a rather less inspired rear camera housing very like that of the older Vivo X80 series. However, according to the Weibo user Experience More (Google translated), iQOO's next generation of flagship smartphones have gone for something a little more Xiaomi-like - even jokingly pointing out that it has the same shape as the legacy Mi logo.
The "iQOO 12 camera hump" also seems even larger than its forebear, which goes well with rumors of its being packed with next-gen sensors such as the same periscope lens as the OnePlus 12, not to mention a new 50MP main shooter of its very own. It is finished in a silver-white that makes it look bigger still.
The more famous Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station corroborates this new tip, also adding that the iQOO 12 series could land in black glass and red vegan leather finish options.
The smartphone is also believed to come bursting with high-end specs such as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and the fastest RAM options available. The iQOO 12 series is also now thought to beat the X100 line from its sister brand Vivo to launch, debuting in China in early November 2023 with a global launch to follow.
