iQOO 12 Pro tipped to launch with same 3X telephoto lens as OnePlus 12
iQOO's flagship series of Android premium smartphones beat others from OEMs such as Xiaomi to be first to rock ultra-fast 120W charging, not to mention 144Hz AMOLED displays. However, the brand has been less of a trailblazer in terms of rear camera technology, often relying on its parent OEM to hand down tried-and-true sensors such as the Samsung ISOCELL GN5 from slightly older Vivo flagships.
That might change in the near future with the launch of a 12 series that might have more of a custom set-up this year. It is now believed to integrate a new 3X periscope zoom that may also become famous as part of the OnePlus 12.
This module is said to be based the OmniVision OV64B, and, thus, have a resolution of 64MP: exceptionally high for a telephoto lens. Then again, the successors to the iQOO 11 Pro and possibly the 11 are also now said to have an OmniVision OV50H 50MP main camera rather than the IMX966 of OnePlus' 12.
Those specs might join cutting-edge specs such as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and top-end RAM that could well top out at 24GB in iQOO's next flagships.
