OnePlus has officially presented the Ace 2 Pro, its latest 'flagship killer'. Arriving a day after the Redmi K60 Ultra, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro combines a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset with up to 24 GB of RAM, as well as a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 150 W charging. OnePlus has bundled plenty of other features too, including a 50 MP Sony IMX890 sensor as the device's primary camera.

OnePlus has finally launched the Ace 2 Pro after publishing numerous teasers on its Chinese social media accounts. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro arrives as a competitor to the Redmi K60 Ultra that Xiaomi announced earlier this week. While OnePlus may not advertise the Ace 2 Pro as such, it mirrors the Redmi K60 Ultra by combining various flagship features with a mid-range price tag.

Specifically, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro relies upon the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and a 5,000 mAh battery. According to OnePlus, the latter supports up to 150 W wired charging via a bundled SuperVOOC charger, while the former can be complemented with up to 24 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. Additionally, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro has a 6.74-inch AMOLED panel that outputs natively at 2,772 x 1,240 pixels with 1,600 nits peak brightness and a 120 Hz refresh rate. As we have discussed separately, the Ace 2 Pro also showcases OnePlus' new touchscreen technology that allows it to be used when wet without any restrictions.

Moreover, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro features the Sony IMX890 as its primary camera, a 1/1.56-inch sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 50 MP native output. Elsewhere, OnePlus has installed an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a 1/1.4-inch optical format, as well as 2 MP and 16 MP front-facing cameras. It is worth noting that OnePlus has equipped the Ace 2 Pro with a plastic back and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 to protect its large display, underlining cost savings in some areas. Similarly, the Ace 2 Pro lacks any official waterproofing, any wireless charging technology or an LTPO backplane for variable display refresh rates.

The OnePlus Ace 2 Pro starts at CNY 2,999 (~US$412) with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Alternatively, the handset can be equipped with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage for CNY 3,399 (~US$467) or 24 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage for CNY 3,999 (~US$550). Currently, OnePlus is expected to eventually launch the Ace 2 Pro in India as the OnePlus 12R. However, it is unclear whether the company plan to offer the Ace 2 Pro globally in any form.
