OnePlus has now confirmed the launch date of the Ace 2 Pro, its next flagship smartphone. Previously, the company had only committed itself to an August reveal, as we discussed last week. However, it has now outlined that the Ace 2 Pro will debut on August 16 at 19:30 UTC (14:30 CDT).
Please note that this release date is likely to only apply to OnePlus' home market. Conversely, OnePlus is expected to offer the Ace 2 Pro in other markets as the OnePlus 12R. If the OnePlus 10R and OnePlus 11R is anything to go by, the OnePlus 12R could be another Indian exclusive.
At any rate, the Ace 2 Pro will maintain the design of the regular Ace 2, as well as its 50 MP and 1/1.56-inch primary camera. The alert slider will return too, which is not always a guarantee with modern OnePlus smartphones. Seemingly, OnePlus will focus on internal hardware changes, such as moving from 100 W to 150 W wired charging. Moreover, the Ace 2 Pro will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, a decent upgrade over the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 powering the Ace 2, along with an optional 24 GB of RAM memory configuration.
