Nothing OS 2.0.2 promises better smartphone photography, more reliable mobile data and newer security patch
Nothing OS 2.0 was touted as the most mindfulness-promting version of its custom Android skin yet on its debut alongside the new Phone (2) flagship. However, some of its users might still have been distracted by glitches in its "seamless" UI, as they are the focus of the system's freshly-announced upgrade to its new 2.0.2 version.
These bugs may have mainly pertained to camera performance on the Phone (2), as the v2.0.2 changelog specifies HDR speed upgrades for its front and rear shooters. It also lists improved "clarity" and "quality" in various scenarios, particularly in Portrait Mode, wherein bokeh, contrast and facial reproduction was apparently not up to par on Nothing OS 2.0.
Similarly, Nothing may have had some negative feedback on the Phone (2)'s typing haptics and touchscreen responses "under certain conditions", as they have been amended in Nothing OS 2.0.2. The software update is also rated to confer increased cellular reliability regardless of carrier, as you might hope in a smartphone mostly sold unlocked online.
Nothing OS 2.0.2 might also come with fixes for issues such as those with its Dirac Audio features and with Google Wallet's ability to work on cloned apps, as well as with an upgraded security patch level (to July 2023). The upgrade is rolling out to the Phone (2) worldwide from now - however, it is slated to be ready for its predecessor the Phone (1) by the end of August 2023.
