The Nothing ear (2) were finished in white and nothing else on their release - however, these options have now been refreshed with a new alternative. This product is unchanged in terms of all specs and features, except of course that the buds' main accents and ear-tips are now of course black, as is the case insert visible through its clear lid.
Then again, these new "dark and mighty" versions of the Nothing ear (1) successors come with the accessories' latest software out of the box, whereas their pale counterparts in circulation will have to update to get the same.
Ear (2) version 1.0.1.101 replaces the buds' existing first-party EQ (or Equalizer) with a new, Advanced version that augments the typical bass/treble/mid graphics "with Q Factor and frequency control".
The software upgrade is also rated to improve on the Nothing ear 2's Bluetooth connectivity, and addresses the potential for battery drain when their LHDC 5 and Personal Sound Profile features are on at the same time.
Nothing has also released the new v1.0.1.85 update for the Ear (stick) that confers "noise reduction" on the more budget TWS buds for the first time, as well as their version of Advanced EQ. Meanwhile, an initial "Limited Drop" batch of the ear (2) in black is now available via nothing.tech while stocks last, at the same US$149/€149 price of their white twins.
