The launch of the WF-1000XM5 is right around the corner, with Sony expected to unveil its next-generation earbuds later today. In the meantime, US pricing has turned up online, as has equivalent Eurozone pricing courtesy of a Croatian retailer. Additionally, what appears to be a Best Buy employee has shared full WF-1000XM5 specifications on Reddit.
Embedded below, the four images confirm earlier leaks from the likes of Roland Quandt. Specifically, the WF-1000XM5 will feature a new V2 processor that Sony has based on the MediaTek MT2833. Moreover, the earbuds rely on a QN2e processor, as well as Edge-A1 and DSEE Extreme for audio upscaling. Seemingly, the WF-1000XM5 will also support 24-bit audio processing and new Dynamic Driver X drives, which are reported to be 40% larger than the equivalents in the WF-1000XM4.
Elsewhere, the new WF-1000 will continue to offer Multipoint audio, Adaptive Sound Control and Speak-to-Chat functionality. Sony claims that 3 minutes of charging will provide up to 60 minutes of usage too, with 8 hours quoted on a single charge or 24 hours with its charging case factored in. All WF-1000XM5 models will ship with SS, S, M and L polyurethane foam tips as well, one more than Sony includes with the WF-1000XM4. Sony will sell the WF-100XM5 for US$299.99 or €319 in the Eurozone.
