Now, Sony is teasing their successor on Twitter, and everything suggests that the WF-1000XM5 will land next week.
The teaser image contains the following text: "The best silence drops," accompanied by the date and time of the launch event, which are July 24th and 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET. The text that accompanies it is quite cryptic and reads "For the silence. For the sound." before concluding with a suggestive "you'll want to hear this."
Although in just a few words, the aforementioned teaser includes clear references to the upcoming's piece of hardware noise canceling abilities and overall sound quality. The Sony WF-1000XM5 have been spotted in multiple leaks and rumors so far, so there's plenty to expect in terms of specs and features.
The list of rumored highlights includes Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, 8.4 mm Dynamic Driver X drivers, a pair of proprietary sound processing units (which should arrive as the Integrated Processor V2, although this hasn't been mentioned in any leaks/rumors that surfaced online so far), a total of six microphones (three for each earbud), as well as bone conduction sensors, improved noise reduction, and enhanced voice pickup. The price tag is expected to show a value of around US$360.
