The Sony WF-1000XM5 is expected to be launched soon, with the company promoting an event taking place on July 24 09:00 PDT/July 25 01:00 JST (July 24 16:00 UTC). Just ahead of that release date, a new set of official-looking WF-1000XM5 renders, a bit of marketing blurb, and alleged prices for both the US and Europe markets have been leaked by SnoopyTech.
The images can be seen below, and clearly the Sony WF-1000XM5 earbuds have a smoother and more rounded appearance to them than the predecessor WF-1000XM4. According to the leak, which was posted on Reddit, the WF-1000XM5 price in the US will be US$299 and the price in Europe will be €319 (which has been mentioned before). Interestingly, SnoopyTech linked the renders using binary code, and added the following marketing text:
The WF-1000XM5 features cutting-edge technology to deliver premium sound quality and the best truly wireless noise-cancelling performance on the market. With a specially designed driver unit, for wide frequency production, deep bass and clear vocals, these headphones are designed to immerse you in a sound so good, it feels like you’re in the studio with your favorite artists.
It appears SnoopyTech has had recent issues with Samsung, as the leaker’s Twitter account has been suspended while another post on Reddit has explained how a DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) strike put paid to the tipster on that particular platform. But it hasn’t taken long for SnoopyTech to bounce back, by posting this new Sony WF-1000XM5 material. Full details of the WF-1000XM5 will undoubtedly turn up soon.
