Garmin Venu 2 and Venu 2S smartwatches receive battery life enhancement with Beta update 14.10
Garmin has issued Beta 14.10 for the Venu 2 and Venu 2S smartwatches. The update provides only one significant change, aiming to preserve battery life across your wearable's lifetime. Garmin has yet to indicate precisely how much the battery life will be improved with this new software or what changes it has made to facilitate this enhancement.
The company notes that version 14.10 is a Release Candidate, meaning that Garmin intends to launch an identical Public Live version of the update, assuming testers do not report any significant bugs. So far, only one customer has listed a bug in the designated forum section, noting that their Venu 2 Plus smartwatch froze after downloading the update; the company has yet to respond.
The new software v14.10 will be automatically delivered to eligible Venu 2 and Venu 2S wearables, with the gadgets checking for updates daily. However, Garmin states that those already running version 15.04 will not receive this software. You can check for the update manually by going to the Main menu > Settings > System > Software Update. Garmin warns that the update may take several hours to complete the download and installation process. If you wish to join the Garmin Beta Program, you can do so via Garmin Connect.
