MagyarGarmin rolls out Beta Version 14.23 to Fenix 7, Fenix 7X and other smartwatches with over 40 changes
Garmin has issued Beta Version 14.23 for Fenix 7, Fenix 7X Enduro 2, Epix 2, Epix 2 Pro Quatix 7 and Marq 2 series smartwatches following the release of stable updates last month. Seemingly, Beta Version 14.23 is the start of a new Public Beta cycle for these smartwatches. However, please note that the new beta build will not be available on the Tactix 7 or MARQ Aviator Gen2, nor will future beta builds.
Please see the hyperlinks for explanations about why each smartwatch will not receive future beta builds. Additionally, it is worth noting that Garmin also recently updated secure_config files as of July 19 2023. Thus, the company recommends installing new secure_config manually files before commencing with Beta Version 14.23.
Conversely, Garmin will only distribute Beta Version 14.23 as an over-the-air (OTA) update directly to your smartwatch when you select 'Check for Updates' within the main settings menu. With that being said, Garmin hopes to roll out new updates automatically over GCM and Wi-Fi later in this Public Beta cycle. Please see the changelog below for the full 45 changes from version 13.22:

- Added split screen and radial data field layouts to the map for fenix 7 series, Epix Gen 2, and Marq 2.
- Added support for weather overlay map in the weather app for fenix 7 series, Epix Gen 2, and Marq 2.
- Added support for new Di2 cassette sprocket patterns.
- Added support for the Recent Apps hot key to Non-Pro models.
- Added Virtual Caddie suggestion in green view for Marq 2.
- Added workout muscle map support for HIIT, Cardio, and Pilates.
- Added Trolling Motor app (allows anglers to control their Garmin Force or Force Kraken Trolling Motor through a compatible Garmin smartwatch. Garmin Force Trolling Motor must be updated to the July 2023 software update.)
- Added Trolling Motor page to Fish and Boat activities if paired to a Garmin Force or Force Kraken Trolling Motor.

- Fixed an issue in Fish and Hunt that would show different options with touch vs button press.
- Fixed a bug where the activity units setting was overwriting units outside the activity.
