Nothing is preparing to release the Phone (2), its second smartphone and first powered by a Snapdragon 8 series chipset. The company also seems busy developing its first smartwatch though, which it has certified under the model number D395.

Leaker Mukul Sharma has discovered details about a first Nothing-branded smartwatch. Certified at the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) under the model number D395, the screenshots below imply that the smartwatch could debut under a new sub-brand, similar to the Particles by XO. Typically, Nothing certifies its devices under its existing brand. However, the BIS reports that D395 is a 'CMF by Nothing' device instead.

While Nothing has not announced anything under its 'CMF by Nothing' brand yet, it has trademarked the term in at least Australia, the UK and the US. Unfortunately, the BIS does not offer any additional details about D395, but it appears that 'CMF by Nothing' could be a global brand and not merely an Indian exclusive. Other regulatory bodies like the FCC in the US have not published equivalent listings for D395, although that is also true of the forthcoming Nothing Phone (2).

Incidentally, Carl Pei has hinted at Nothing developing its first smartwatch. For example, he tweeted to his followers in February that he picked up the Galaxy Watch5 Pro 'to learn about smart watches', before asking for feedback about the various ways in which fans use current smartwatches. The company posted a reaction video to Nothing Watch renders too, seemingly underlining its interest in the smartwatch market. Presumably, Nothing will not release anything before the Phone (2), which is due to arrive next month with a familiar design and a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset.
