New Amazfit Cheetah and Cheetah Pro running smartwatches arrive
Amazfit has launched its new Cheetah (Round) and Cheetah Pro smartwatches. The models are the first dedicated running wearables from the brand, initially seen in leaks earlier this year. MaxTrack, Amazfit’s proprietary dual-band circularly polarized GPS antenna, improves positioning with 99.5% accuracy. The technology can pick up nearly all satellite signals and reduce multi-path interference, which trees or tall buildings can cause. The smartwatches support six satellite systems, with the ability to import running routes.
The Cheetahs' Zepp Coach gives you AI-generated training plans across various race types, intelligently adjusting to your performance over time. An AI chatbot is also being trialled and could become a subscription-based feature in the future. You can track health metrics, such as your heart rate and VO2 Max, with PeakBeats performance insights. A Track Run mode captures data like the Time, Distance and Pace for each lap, with intelligent trajectory adjustments based on your lane. Plus, you can share running data with third-party apps like Strava and Adidas Running. Other features include auto-detection of eight sports, music storage and playback, Bluetooth calling and Amazon Alexa voice commands. Both models have a 440 mAh battery, allowing the devices to run for over 14 days with typical use.
The wearables have a lightweight fibre-reinforced polymer frame, and an AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 1,000 nits. The standard model has a 1.39-in (~35 mm) display with a 454x454 px resolution and a silicon strap; the watch weighs 49g. The Pro version has a larger 1.45-in (~37 mm) display with a 480x480 px resolution, this time with a nylon strap bringing the total weight to 43 g. Other upgrades for the Pro model include a premium titanium alloy bezel and a built-in speaker. You can now buy the Amazfit Cheetah (Round) and Cheetah Pro models for US$229.99/£229.90/€229.90 and US$299.99/£299.90/€299.90, respectively. Plus, the Amazfit Cheetah (Square) will launch soon, according to the company.
