Redmi Watch 3 Active: Xiaomi previews new smartwatch before global launch

Xiaomi has quietly listed the Redmi Watch 3 Active on its global website, signalling its impending release. While Xiaomi has not revealed the price of the new smartwatch, third-party sells on marketplaces like AliExpress seem to believe that it will cost US$39.99. Regardless, it appears that the Redmi Watch 3 Active is the global version of the Redmi Watch 3 Youth Edition that launched last month in China.

Eschewing Xiaomi's typical and expected 'Lite' branding, the Redmi Watch 3 Active has a 1.83-inch LCD display that resolves at 240 x 280 pixels. According to Xiaomi, the large panel peaks at 450 nits; the company has not commented on other display specifications like refresh rate, though. Additionally, the 47 mm smartwatch has a 289 mAh battery that is rated for between 8 and 12 days of usage, depending on how heavily you use its features.

Moreover, Xiaomi includes heart rate and SpO2 sensors but no GPS or NFC modules. Like its Chinese counterpart, the Redmi Watch 3 Active is 5 ATM water resistant and supports Bluetooth voice calls via a paired smartphone thanks to a built-in microphone and speaker.
