Redmi Watch 3 Youth Edition: Xiaomi debuts expected Redmi Watch 3 Lite with 1.83-inch display
Xiaomi has released the Redmi Watch 3 Youth Edition in China, a smartwatch that is expected to launch elsewhere as the Redmi Watch 3 Lite. Arriving a few months after the Redmi Watch 3 launched globally, the Redmi Watch 3 Youth Edition has a 1.83-inch display that delivers up to 450 nits peak brightness.
In other words, the Redmi Watch 3 Youth Edition is slightly larger than its predecessor. However, it lacks an AMOLED panel like its more expensive sibling. Instead, it appears that Xiaomi has equipped the Redmi Watch 3 Youth Edition with a cheaper IPS panel instead. Additionally, the smartwatch offers up to 12 days of battery life, is 5 ATM water resistance and supports magnetic charging, not Qi wireless.
Moreover, Xiaomi pre-installs over 100 exercise modes, 200 watch faces, a heart rate sensor and an SpO2 sensor for measuring blood oxygen saturation. Furthermore, the Redmi Watch 3 Youth Edition features Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity for connecting with smartphones running various operating systems. So far, Xiaomi has only announced the Redmi Watch 3 Youth Edition in China, where it sells for CNY 399 (~US$57). If the global release of the Redmi Watch 3 is anything to go by, it could take Xiaomi a few months before it announces the Redmi Watch 3 Youth Edition outside China as the Redmi Watch 3 Lite.
