Garmin Forerunner 255 and Forerunner 955 receive another Release Candidate update with bug fixes
Garmin is offering new Release Candidate builds for the Forerunner 255 and Forerunner 955 on its Beta Program. To recap, Garmin has released four other updates for the Forerunner 255 and Forerunner 955 series in the last month, all also Release Candidate builds. However, the company has evidently observed critical issues in Beta Versions 15.11, 15.12, 15.15 and 15.17 that prevented a stable rollout.
Now, Garmin has brought both series onto Beta Version 15.19, which contains minor changes from Beta Version 15.17. Specifically, the company claims to have addressed an issue that could allow a CIQ app to interrupt Assistance functionality. Moreover, Beta Version 15.19 should address a bug that soft reset the Forerunner 255 and Forerunner 955 at seemingly random intervals.
Currently, Beta Version 15.19 should have reached 50% of eligible Forerunner 255 and Forerunner 955 smartwatches enrolled on Garmin's Beta Program. Garmin advises that it has distributed the latest beta build for the pair through its Garmin Connect Mobile (GCM) service. As such, Beta Version 15.19 may not arrive for another day or so at the least. Please note that it could take several hours for Beta Version 15.19 to finish transferring to your smartwatch before it is ready to be installed.
