Garmin Beta Version 12.23 now available for Instinct 2 smartwatches
The Garmin Beta Version 12.23 software for the Instinct 2 and Instinct Crossover smartwatches has arrived. The latest update brings a range of bug fixes to the wearables. In the changelog, Garmin notes that it has resolved an issue with text rendering in glances. For example, one user reported in the forum that the date was cut off on their watch face.
Update v12.23 also fixes an issue with the activity history elevation plot, which you can use to analyse a run or bike ride. Plus, Garmin has fixed a bug which could cause the Instinct 2 and Instinct Crossover smartwatches to crash during a Virtual Run activity. Compared to the last public release, version 11.18, the software adds an Obstacle Course Racing activity and provides a setting for automatic sensor discovery and improved voice prompts during activities.
As with other recent updates, v12.23 will not be automatically delivered to eligible smartwatches; instead, you must side-load the software. The update can be downloaded here, and Garmin notes that the Sensor Hub files must be installed before the rest of the update if you have not already upgraded during the 12.xx beta cycle. If you wish to join the Garmin Beta Program, you can do so via Garmin Connect.
