Garmin Fenix 6, Enduro and MARQ smartwatches receive bug fixes in new Beta Version 25.88
Garmin has released Beta Version 25.88 for the Fenix 6, Enduro and MARQ smartwatches. The new software brings two bug fixes to the wearables. Firstly, a problem which led to incorrectly reported ascent and descent data measured during activity has been resolved.
Secondly, there was a bug that could cause the wearables to shut down while you were editing a set in a strength activity; this has also been fixed. At the moment, the 25.88 update needs to be loaded manually to your smartwatch under the restructured Beta Program. You can download a .zip file containing all the relevant downloads for various watch models, including the Fenix 6 Pro and Fenix 6s, here. Garmin notes that the secure_config.gcd file must also be installed on your watch, which can help smooth out any issues you might encounter. The Beta announcement states that an OTA version of the update, which can be installed via the Garmin Connect app, will soon become available.
The last major update for these Garmin smartwatches was v25.10. Since then, Garmin has made many changes, adding an Obstacle Course Racing activity, updating the Golf activity and Altitude Acclimation widget, and improving the voice prompts that play during some activities. It is unclear precisely when the new 26.xx cycle will begin. If you wish to join the Garmin Beta Program, you can do so via Garmin Connect.
