Filings at SIRIM in Malaysia have appeared for the upcoming Garmin Venu 3 and Venu 3S smartwatches. Little is known about the wearables, which could feature the new Garmin ECG app, used to detect an irregular heart rhythm. The new watches are unlikely to launch ahead of the Epix 2 Pro and Fenix 7 Pro models.

The Garmin Venu 3 and Venu 3S smartwatches have appeared in new Standards and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM) filings. The Venu 3 has model number A04543, while the Venu 3S has model number A04542. Filings for these new smartwatches have yet to appear at other regulatory bodies, such as the FCC.

Little is known about the Venu 3 watch series, with no official information from Garmin. The latest smartwatch released in the Venu series was the Venu 2 Plus, which arrived in January 2022. The wearable has health features such as Body Battery energy monitoring, heart rate tracking and a new ECG app, which uses sensors to detect signs of atrial fibrillation (AFib) or irregular heart rhythm. The watch also features Siri, Google Assistant and Bixby voice assistants, Bluetooth calling and up to nine days of battery life.

The Garmin Venu 3 and Venu 3S smartwatches are unlikely to launch before the upcoming Epix 2 Pro and Fenix 7 Pro wearables; Gadgets and Wearables speculate that the Venu series devices could follow shortly in August or September. The wearables' exact launch date, feature list and price remain to be seen. For context, the Garmin Venu 2 Plus smartwatch typically retails for US$449.99. At the time of writing, the Venu 2 Plus is discounted by US$50 to US$399.99 in the Garmin sale and at Amazon in the US.
