Garmin has expanded the Fenix 7 series with Pro models, which it released alongside the Epix 2 Pro series. While Garmin has equipped the Fenix 7 Pro series with new features compared to their regular Fenix 7 counterparts, no new variants support ECGs or skin temperature analysis. Instead, Garmin offers the same next-gen heart rate sensor in the Fenix 7 Pro series as its new Epix 2 Pro smartwatches.
Additionally, the Fenix 7 Pro series adds a built-in flashlight, plus Endurance and Hill Scores. As far as we can tell, the latter two features do not depend on Garmin's new heart-rate sensor. Hence, we would not be surprised if Garmin eventually brought this functionality to its existing Fenix 7 series models. However, Hill Score and Endurance Score are Epix 2 Pro and Fenix 7 Pro series exclusives for now.
The Fenix 7 Pro series starts at US$799.99 as the Fenix 7S Pro Solar and Fenix 7 Solar Editions. By contrast, the Fenix 7X Pro Solar retails for US$899.99. Like the Epix 2 Pro series, Garmin charges US$100 more for Sapphire Editions, which have 'Power Sapphire' display lenses, titanium bezels and titanium rear covers.
