Garmin releases Beta v12.24 for Instinct 2, 2S, Crossover and new Instinct 2X smartwatches
Garmin has released Beta Version 12.24 for the Instinct 2, Instinct 2S and Instinct Crossover smartwatches, as well as the new Instinct 2X model. The latest software brings three bug fixes to the wearables. Firstly, Garmin has resolved a problem which could cause the watches to crash when using CIQ data fields. For Instinct 2, 2S and 2X, the company has also worked on various issues with Cycling data fields, though it does not provide further details.
For the Garmin Instinct Crossover, Beta update v12.24 resolves a bug with watch face data fields; again, the specifics of the fix are not given. The new software is a Public Beta update, meaning it will automatically be pushed to smartwatches enrolled in the Program. Garmin suggests that users ensure they have the latest secure_config file installed on their watch before installing the update; software for each model can be downloaded here.
Garmin Beta Version 12.24 follows the recent v12.23 update, which also brought bug fixes to the Instinct 2 wearables, resolving problems with glances, activity history and the Virtual Run activity. At the time of writing, the v12.24 update is rolled out to 20% of eligible smartwatches. If you wish to join the Garmin Beta Program, you can do so via Garmin Connect.
