Unlike many other smartwatch manufacturers, Garmin does not refresh its rugged outdoor wearables on an annual basis. This also means that these products, such as the sought-after Garmin Fenix 7, are quite stable in terms of price. However, a current deal at two reputable retailers is now offering the largest discount yet for one of these robust multisport smartwatches.

For example, Amazon and Best Buy are selling the awesome-looking silver color variant of the Garmin Fenix 7, which is also equipped with the graphite-colored band, for US$499 including free shipping. Other variants, including the coveted sapphire and solar-equipped models, have also been put on sale with similar discounts. In case of the base model, this deal provides steep savings of US$200 or 29 percent off the official list price of the smartwatch, and Camelcamelcamel's price history shows that this is Amazon's largest price cut ever for the Garmin Fenix 7. Thus far, the wearable was sold for an average price of $677, indicating that it was rarely sold for less than MSRP.

Aside from all-important multisport components like a precise GPS module, heart rate and even blood oxygen sensor, the Garmin Fenix 7 is equipped with a 1.3-inch always-on display and offers a very long battery life of up to 40 days in the so-called "Expedition mode". Needless to say, the rugged wearable is resistant to water and dust and its fiber-reinforced polymer case should be much more resilient than a regular Apple Watch or Samsung Galaxy Watch. Since it now costs a few hundred dollars less than the competing Apple Watch Ultra, this may be the smartwatch deal that some outdoor enthusiasts have been waiting for.
