Even though the Erazer Scout E20 is primarily a gaming laptop from the entry-level segment, you should also be able to use it in other areas that demand a lot of performance, such as rendering and video processing. The necessary computing power is delivered by Raptor Lake and Ada Lovelace processors. Our test unit is available for about 1,500 Euros (~$1,658). At the time of the testing, no other equipment configurations of this Medion laptop could be found. (Note by the translator: The Medion laptop is based on the Clevo barebone V170RNCQ, which can also be configured with other equipment.)
The combination of a Core i7-13700H CPU, GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU, and 16 GB of DDR5-4800 working memory in dual-channel mode equips the laptop for video processing, rendering, and gaming. The GPU delivers performance values above the average for RTX 4050 GPUs. A fast 1-TB PCIe 4 SSD ensures short load times.
The hardware is able to bring all the current games to the screen smoothly, and you can usually select the full display resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels and high to maximum settings. The matte 17.3-inch IPS display (144 Hz, sRGB) left a good impression overall. If you connect the corresponding monitor, you could also use higher resolutions - you can connect up to three additional displays (1x HDMI 2.1, 1x DisplayPort via USB-C, 1x Mini DisplayPort).
In regular operation, the laptop can produce a lot of noise. Considering the hardware equipment, it can get much too loud. Fortunately, the laptop also offers a "Silent mode" that allows for gaming with a low noise level.
