Mobvoi teases imminent TicWatch Pro 5 launch event
The wearables OEM Mobvoi has just announced that "something BIG is coming", in the form of its next-gen TicWatch Pro 5 flagship. The new wearable has yet to be hyped in terms of its specs, although its initial trailer seems to confirm a rumored major design update. In the meantime, it is up for grabs as a prize in an official social media-based giveaway.
Mobvoi has hinted that its next major product event is on the way. Going by the design cues in the OEM's new trailers, the wearable in question is indeed its long-awaited next-gen flagship smartwatch. The TicWatch Pro 5 is tipped to pack the latest silicon from Qualcomm, up-to-date Wear OS support and a physical crown with a red accent into a relatively slim premium casing.
Despite this, the OEM also intimates that it may be a particularly large-screen smartwatch on its debut. Accordingly, there may be more of the TicWatch Pro 3's Dual Layer Display technology on the way, which, as its successor is slated to get up to 35 hours more battery life per charge, may be a good thing.
Then again, there is no guarantee of such potential longevity until the Pro 5 is actually announced. Mobvoi is warming up for this launch by offering the chance of getting one of the new flagship smartwatches for free per day.
The promo, which requires engagement on both Twitter and Instagram, runs from now until May 23, 2023, thereby boosting the possibility the TicWatch Pro 5 will debut on or around that date.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
