It has been almost two years since Mobvoi announced the TicWatch Pro 3, the first smartwatch paired with the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100 platform. While Mobvoi unveiled the TicWatch E3 last year, it only introduced the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra, rather than a fourth-generation model. However, it seems likely that Mobvoi is preparing to release a new smartwatch that may succeed the TicWatch Pro 3 series.
According to an email that emerged on the r/wearOS subreddit, Mobvoi is seeking testers for a 'new advanced product' under the TicWatch brand. Also referred to as being 'about to be released', the smartwatch's main features read like a TicWatch Pro product. Specifically, Mobvoi states that the 'flagship model' will have an improved premium design and long battery life.
Predictably, the smartwatch will feature NFC for Google Pay compatibility, GPS connectivity and IP68 certification, along with a microphone and speaker for Google Assistant. Separately, the email reports that Mobvoi will integrate Atrial Fibrillation (Afib) and Irregular Heartbeat (IHB) technology, as well as a fatigue assessment mode. Presumably, the smartwatch will rely on Qualcomm's next-generation smartwatch chipset too, discussed separately. If recent TicWatch releases are anything to go by, Mobvoi will unveil a next-generation flagship product in early autumn.
