Montblanc Summit 3: First non-Samsung Wear OS 3 smartwatch powered by Snapdragon 4100 Plus for €1,250
Google first announced Wear OS 3 back in May 2021, but smartwatches powered by the said OS have been hard to come by. Montblanc has now launched the Summit 3 smartwatch, making it the only other Wear OS 3-powered smartwatch apart from the Samsung Galaxy Watch4 and the Galaxy Watch4 Classic.
The Montblanc Summit 3 is the latest addition to the luxury pen and watch company's Summit lineup of smartwatches, which include the Summit Lite, Summit 2, and Summit 2+. Full details of the Summit 3 are not yet available but the smartwatch is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4100 Plus SoC and offers various health and fitness tracking features.
Though not extensively detailed by Montblanc, it is evident from official screenshots that the Summit 3 watch will indeed be running a near-stock version of Wear OS 3. The Galaxy Watch 4 series, on the other hand, uses a heavily customized One UI skin on top.
The Summit 3 sports a titanium case that comes in silver titanium (with black leather and blue rubber strap options) and black titanium (black leather and black rubber strap options). There's also a silver-black combination color available with a green leather strap or a black rubber strap.
The 42 mm watch features a rotating crown and two buttons. Montblanc appears to include a fitness app, sleep tracking, blood oxygen monitoring, and several watch faces. Support for Google Play and Google Pay is available. There is no information about battery life estimates for the Summit 3, but current Summit watches can last up to a day.
The Montblanc Summit 3 will be available for €1,250 — twice as much as the Apple Watch Series 7 — starting July 15. We should be seeing more Wear OS 3 watches in the coming months including premium offerings from Fitbit, Fossil, and the Google Pixel Watch.
