Skagen Gen 6 Hybrid smartwatches introduced in two sizes and multiple styles with Amazon Alexa functionality
Over the weekend, we reported that Fossil had announced the Gen 6 Hybrid, which the company introduced with SpO2 tracking. Also, Fossil's sister company, Skagen, has released new smartwatches in kind. As usual, Skagen's equivalent smartwatches have a more stylish design than their Fossil counterparts. Unsurprisingly, Skagen has matched Fossil by unveiling 38 mm and 42 mm models.
It is worth stressing that Skagen refers to all Gen 6 Hybrid smartwatches as 'Jorn', regardless of whether they are a 38 mm or 42 mm sizing. However, there is a major difference between the two models. Namely, the 42 mm version of the Gen 6 Hybrid lasts up to two weeks on a single charge, double what the 38 mm model achieves. Still, both versions retail for €219; it seems that pricing has not been confirmed in the UK or the US yet, for some reason.
Presumably, Skagen will price match Fossil in the US, where its Gen 6 Hybrid's will be available from US$229. Additionally, these Gen 6 Hybrid smartwatches feature a Skagen-themed version of the Fossil Group's 5.0.0 software. Also, Skagen has equipped its Gen 6 Hybrid smartwatches with a SpO2 sensor and plus Amazon Alexa functionality. For reference, the Skagen Gen 6 Hybrid series feature Fossil's infamous charging rings. Separately, marketing images confirm that the smartwatches are also those that the Fossil Group registered with the FCC in April.
