Xiaomi Watch Color 3 tipped to launch soon as certifications for M2134W1 smartwatch surface
Xiaomi is having a busy year in the wearables market, having already unveiled several smartwatches and fitness trackers so far. Most recently, the company introduced the Smart Band 7 globally, less than two months after presenting the POCO Watch. However, recent 3C and TENAA listings suggest that Xiaomi could be preparing to release another smartwatch, potentially a new model in its Watch Color series. For reference, the Watch Color 2 arrived last September, so it could be a few months before Xiaomi announces a successor.
As the screenshot below shows, Xiaomi has recently registered the M2134W1 with the 3C and TENAA in China, a model number that Xiaomi has started selling yet. Allegedly, this could be the Watch Color 3, which Digital Chat Station implies will be Xiaomi's next smartwatch. Although it is evident that Xiaomi has a newer smartwatch in the pipeline, it will rely on 5 W charging, rather than 10 W like the rumoured Galaxy Watch5 and Galaxy Watch5 Pro.
Reportedly, Xiaomi's next smartwatch will not support eSIM functionality either. Hence, there will be no LTE connectivity. If the Watch Color 2 is anything to go by, then the M2134W1 will feature a GPS module, plus a large battery. Additionally, the Watch Color 2 has a 470 mAh battery that yields up to 12 days of battery life. Digital Chat Station warns that Xiaomi's next smartwatch will be on the large side too, which would fit with theories that it is a new Watch Color device; the Watch Color 2 has a 1.43-inch round display and measures 46.5 x 47.3 x 11 mm.
