POCO Watch: First POCO-branded smartwatch launches with a large AMOLED display and plenty of health tracking features
POCO has announced its first smartwatch, albeit one that looks an awful lot like the Redmi Watch 2. Weighing in at 31 g, the POCO Watch measures 39.1 x 34.4 x 9.98 mm and comes in Black, Blue and Ivory colourways. For some reason, POCO has decided against releasing a signature yellow colour option, unlike with the POCO F4 GT.
Since the POCO Watch appears to be based on the Redmi Watch 2, it should come as no surprise to learn that it has a 1.6-inch AMOLED display. According to POCO, the display operates at 320 x 360 pixels with a 301 PPI pixel density, on which the smartwatch can show over 100 customisable watch faces. Similarly, the POCO Watch supports more than 100 fitness modes, including cycling, HIIT fat-burning exercises, running and yoga, among others.
Accordingly, the POCO Watch features 24-hour heart rate tracking, a SpO2 sensor and 5 ATM water resistance. Moreover, the smartwatch contains a multi-system standalone GPS that can also connect to BeiDou, Galileo and GLONASS satellite navigation systems. Like the Redmi Watch 2, the POCO Watch has a 225 mAh battery that offers up to two weeks of battery life and is rechargeable via a magnetic charger.
Unfortunately, neither POCO nor Xiaomi has confirmed how much the POCO Watch costs. Likewise, it is unclear when the POCO Watch will be available and in which countries, although a European release is confirmed at this stage.
