Xiaomi has launched the Watch S1 series outside China during today's online launch event. As expected, Xiaomi has released both the Watch S1 and Watch S1 Active, which feature a 1.43-inch AMOLED display covered in sapphire glass and a stainless steel body. For reference, the Watch S1 Active comes with a silicone watch band, while the regular Watch S1 has a leather watch band instead.
Like their Chinese counterparts, the global models come with 117 fitness modes pre-installed, including professional training modes like high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and elliptical training. Also, all models have over 200 watch dials pre-installed and support MIUI Super Wallpaper. Similarly, the Watch S1 series supports Amazon Alexa; Xiaomi has not included Wear OS or Google Assistant.
Moreover, the Watch S1 series features dual-band GPS, 24/7 health-tracking, 5 ATM water resistance and up to 12 days of battery life. According to Xiaomi, the smartwatch supports MasterCard payments via NFC out of the box too. Typically, Xiaomi releases non-NFC and NFC-enabled models, as with the Mi Smart Band 6.
The Xiaomi Watch S1 series is available to order from today, starting at €179 for the Watch S1 Active. In comparison, the regular Watch S1 costs €229, although there are no functional differences between the pair. Additionally, Xiaomi will bundle a Mi Body Composition Scale 2 worth €29.99 for those pre-ordering the Watch S1 or Watch S1 Active before March 31.
