Redmi K40S: Details of the potential Poco F4 surface along with more Redmi K50 series information

Xiaomi is preparing an event for March 17 that will see the debut of two new Redmi K50 series phones along with a new RedmiBook Pro 2022. Apparently, those aren't the only device apparently scheduled to launch on that day, as word has now surfaced about the Redmi K40S.

This information comes from Chinese leaker Bald Panda, who seems to claim that Xiaomi will launch the Redmi K40S alongside the Dimensity 8100 and Dimensity 9000-powered Redmi K50 series models. Supposedly, the Redmi K40S will feature a 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED with a 4500 mAh battery, a Snapdragon 870, and 67 W charging. 

It appears that this Redmi K40S could be the device previously referred to as the vanilla Redmi K50. It would also explain Xiaomi's marketing campaign completely ignoring it in favor of the Dimensity-powered Redmi K50 series models. 

Even more interestingly, this phone could make its way to the global market with the Poco F4 moniker. Available information already indicates that the Poco F4 will feature a Snapdragon 870, 4500 mAh battery, and 67 W charging. That's a match for the Redmi K40S as leaked. The Poco F4 Pro is also said to be a rebadge of the Dimensity 9000-powered Redmi K50 model.

According to the source, the Redmi K40S will be joined by the Redmi K50, powered by a Dimensity 8100 and with a 6.67-inch QHD+ AMOLED, 5500 mAh battery, and 67 W charging. At the top of the food chain will be the Redmi K50 Pro, with a Dimensity 9000, 6.67-inch QHD+ AMOLED, 5000 mAh battery, and 120 W charging.
