Xiaomi Redmi K50 launched in four colours with a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 and a 1440p display
Xiaomi has unveiled the Redmi K50, a Dimensity 8100-powered smartphone. Originally thought to be the Redmi K50 Pro, the Redmi K50 also offers a Samsung E4 display, a 120 Hz and AMOLED panel that resolves at 3,200 x 1,440 pixels. Incidentally, Xiaomi equips the Redmi K50 with the same display as the Redmi K50 Pro, on which we have reported separately.
Additionally, the Redmi K50 features a 5,500 mAh battery and 67 W fast charging, but no wireless charging support. Still, the Redmi K50 has a larger battery than the Redmi K50 Pro, which makes do with a 5,000 mAh capacity instead. The Redmi K50's large battery powers Dolby Atmos speakers, LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, along with a 48 MP primary camera.

As the image below shows, Xiaomi has equipped the Redmi K50 with a Sony IMX582, a sensor supporting OIS and complemented by two other rear-facing cameras. Specifically, the Redmi K50 has a 2 MP macro camera, an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 20 MP front-facing camera (IMX596).
The Redmi K50 will be available to order in China from March 22, where it will start at CNY 2,399 (~US$378) with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Predictably, Xiaomi will sell multiple memory configurations, which will cost as follows:

- 8 GB/256 GB - CNY 2,599 (~US$409)
- 12 GB/256 GB - CNY 2,799 (~US$440)
