Digital Chat Station has outlined details about the Redmi K50 Ultra, a smartphone last seen in February. For context, Xiaomiui saw the Redmi K50 Ultra on an IMEI database as the 22071212AC, denoting that it is intended for the Chinese market. Additionally, Xiaomiui noticed the Redmi K50S Ultra, potentially a higher-end model than the Redmi K50 Ultra.
Now, Digital Chat Station alleges that the Redmi K50 Ultra will be one of Xiaomi's flagships to launch with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, announced earlier this month. As we discussed at the time, the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 has 10% higher CPU and GPU clocks than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, while also delivering up to 30% reduced power efficiency. Presumably, Qualcomm's switch to TSMC 4 nm nodes from Samsung ones has helped keep power consumption in check.
Moreover, the leaker adds that the Redmi K50 Ultra has a 4,800-5,000 mAh battery with support for over 100 W charging, plus an OLED display that operates at 1080p and 120 Hz. Purportedly, the Redmi K50 Ultra will offer DC dimming to reduce eye strain, coupled with 'ultra-narrow' bezels to give it a modern appearance. Supposedly due to arrive in the second half of the year, Digital Chat Station claims that the Redmi K50 Ultra has a 50 MP primary camera with a punch-hole front-facing camera.
