Redmi K50 Extreme Edition officially confirmed to debut this month with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1
Over the past few weeks, word of Xiaomi's next Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 device has slowly filtered out. This smartphone, expected to be the Redmi K50 Ultra or Redmi K50S Pro, has now been officially teased by Xiaomi, albeit with a different name.
Xiaomi has now teased its upcoming device on its Redmi Weibo handle. This smartphone seems to be branded as the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition, and not any of the previously rumored names. That doesn't say much, though. Back in 2020, for example, Xiaomi marketed the Redmi K30 Ultra as the "Redmi K30S Extreme Commemorative Edition". There's a significant chance this new Redmi device still gets sold as the Redmi K50 Ultra.
The company confirms a few other details of the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition, too. The phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, and will debut this month. Supposedly, the device will be the "ultimate masterpiece of the K50 universe", and has been "redesigned and upgraded across the board". According to recent reports, the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition—or whatever it's eventually sold as in China—will make the trip over to the global market as the Xiaomi 12T Pro.
