After releasing the Xiaomi 12S series earlier in the month, Xiaomi looks geared to set its sights on its mid-range Redmi brand. From the look of things, the company's next Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 device could well arrive with Redmi branding.
According to leaker Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi is working on the Redmi K50 Ultra. The most premium Redmi device of the year, superseding the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition and Redmi K50 Pro, will be powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Apparently, the Redmi K50 Ultra could arrive as soon as next month, although the leaker's words on that aren't clear. There's a chance the Redmi K50 Ultra lands as the Redmi K50S Pro, however. Going by current rumors, it will sport a 120 Hz AMOLED, 50 MP main camera, and 120 W charging.
After the release of the Redmi K50 Ultra—or Redmi K50S Pro—Xiaomi will supposedly focus on its next-gen Redmi Note series. The company launched the Redmi Note 11T duo in China back in May as a mid-year, performance-focused refresh of the Redmi Note 11 series. Digital Chat Station, however, purports that a proper next-generation series is coming soon, which can be expected to be the Redmi Note 12 series. An early Q4 launch wouldn't be surprising.
