Xiaomi Redmi K50 Pro unleashed with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC and plenty of other compelling features
Xiaomi has announced the Redmi K50 Pro in China, a handset that sits below the Redmi K50 Gaming in the Redmi K50 series. Measuring 163.1 x 76.15 x 8.48 mm, the Redmi K50 Pro features a 6.67-inch OLED display that it shares with the Redmi K50. Hence, the Redmi K50 Pro has a 3,200 x 1,400-pixel panel with 120 Hz refresh and 480 Hz touch sampling rates.
Additionally, Xiaomi equips the Redmi K50 Pro with the Dimensity 9000, a 4 nm SoC with Cortex-X2, Cortex-A710, and Cortex-A510 CPU cores, plus a Mali-G710 GPU. Xiaomi pairs the Dimensity 9000 with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, which it powers with a 5,000 mAh battery. Incidentally, the Redmi K50 Pro supports 120 W wired fast charging but no wireless or reverse wireless charging.
Moreover, the Redmi K50 Pro comes with an ISOCELL HM2 primary camera, along with the ultra-wide-angle, macro and front-facing cameras from the Redmi K40S and Redmi K50. While Xiaomi boasts that the Redmi K50 Pro has a 108 MP camera with OIS, it is the same sensor found in the Redmi Note 11 Pro, Redmi Note 11 Pro+ and the Redmi K40 Pro+.
The Redmi K50 Pro starts at CNY 2,999 (~US$472) with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. However, Xiaomi charges CNY 3,299 (~US$519) for 256 GB of storage and CNY 3,599 (~US$567) if you want 12 GB of RAM. Finally, Xiaomi has created a 12 GB of RAM configuration with 512 GB of storage, which retails for a substantial CNY 3,999 (~US$630). For reference, Xiaomi also sells the Xiaomi 12 with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage for the same price.
