Poco F4 GT: Gaming-focused phone to debut with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 on April 26
Poco has now officially confirmed the global launch date for its first flagship phone for the year, the Poco F4 GT. The company has sent out email invites to the press announcing that it will debut the new device on April 26. Considering earlier rumors, a recent Geekbench sighting, and Poco's "The apex of power" tagline, it's safe to assume that the Poco F4 GT will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
The Poco F4 GT is likely to be a familiar device, as reports from February already indicated that it would be a rebadge of the Redmi K50 Gaming. That mirrors the relationship between last year's Poco F3 GT and Redmi K40 Gaming as well. What this means is that the Poco F4 GT will likely come equipped with a 6.67-inch 120 Hz FHD+ AMOLED, UFS 3.1 storage and LPDDR5 RAM, 64 MP main camera, 20 MP selfie camera, side-mounted fingerprint reader, 4700 mAh battery, 120 W charging, and "magnetomotive shoulder keys".
The Redmi K50 Gaming started at the equivalent of US$520 in China, so the Poco F4 GT will likely cost north of US$600 on the global market. Either way, we'll find out more about the gaming-focused device on April 26.
