POCO F4 specifications revealed with a major disappointment
Yogesh Brar has revealed several specifications for the POCO F4, expected to be the global version of the Redmi K50. While Xiaomi is yet to announce the Redmi K50, @OnLeaks has published several renders based on leaked CAD files. Incidentally, @OnLeaks has also shared renders of the Redmi K50 Pro; Xiaomi is believed to be working towards releasing a Redmi K50 Pro+ at some stage as well.
As for the POCO F4, Brar asserts that it relies on a 6.3-inch AMOLED display that resolves at 1080p. Brar refers to the display's resolution at 'FHD+', so we imagine that it will operate natively at 2,400 x 1080 pixels, mirroring the recently announced POCO M4 Pro (4G). Additionally, Brar claims that the POCO F4 will have a 120 Hz refresh rate, which it shares with the POCO F3.
Moreover, the POCO F4 will launch with the Snapdragon 870, the same SoC found in the POCO F3. Seemingly, Xiaomi does not consider the Snapdragon 888 as an adequate replacement for the Snapdragon 870, having since moved onto the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 for the Xiaomi 12 series. Still, the POCO F4 may only match POCO F3's performance, which would be unusual. Allegedly, the POCO F4 will feature 6 GB, 8 GB or 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM too, along with 128 GB or 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
Separately, Brar believes that the POCO F4 will arrive with a 50 MP primary camera, a 13 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 5 MP telephoto lens and a 32 MP front-facing sensor. Furthermore, the smartphone will be capable of recharging its 4,500 mAh battery at 67 W, in line with previous leaks about the Redmi K50. Unfortunately, it is unclear when the POCO F4 will arrive. For reference, Xiaomi announced its predecessor on March 22 last year.
