The Xiaomi Smart Door Lock Pro is now available to pre-order in China. The company’s flagship door lock is a three-in-one device combining a security camera, doorbell and locking mechanism.
An HD ultra-wide camera with a 161° viewing angle allows you to see who is outside your home. A body sensor will trigger an alert to notify you of a guest or potential intruder. A light sensor determines when to switch the camera into an infrared mode, providing a clear image in low lighting.
You can use the Mijia app to remotely answer your door through a connected smartphone or Xiao AI touch screen speaker. You can also use the app to check whether your door is locked or unlocked. The gadget is compatible with Apple HomeKit, enabling you to unlock your door with a command like “Hey Siri, open the door”.
In total, there are seven ways to unlock the door, including password, NFC and HomeKit. A built-in scratch-resistant 3D fingerprint scanner can also open the door, with a 98.7% recognition rate.
The device comes with a 5,000 mAh battery that Xiaomi claims can last for up to 10 months, with a notification triggered when the lock has 20% battery remaining. The gadget measures 411.5 x 76.5 x 25 mm (~16.2 x 3.0 x 1.0-in).
You can now pre-order the Xiaomi Smart Door Lock Pro in China for 1,499 yuan (~US$229). After this presale period, the product will cost 1,599 yuan (~US$244). It is unclear whether or when Xiaomi could launch this product in other countries.
