Xiaomi launches the Smart Home Screen 10 with a built-in camera and microphone
Xiaomi has launched the Smart Home Screen 10, an intelligent home control system. As predicted last month, the new gadget is similar to a Google Nest Hub or Amazon Echo Show device, with a 10.1-in (~25.6 cm) HD touchscreen display that you can use to control your smart home products or for entertainment.
The company claims that the Smart Home Screen 10 can control up to 6,000 household appliances at a time with Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity and a built-in infrared remote control. You can use the device to see the status of your smart home devices at a glance and to control them. Alternatively, you can use Xiao AI voice commands to direct the gadget.
You can use the device for entertainment, such as streaming TikTok and Tencent videos or karaoke. The smart home hub also has a kid-friendly mode and can be used to set alarms or tell you the weather forecast.
The Smart Home Screen 10 has dual stereo speakers, a built-in microphone and a 5MP HD camera with a 115° wide-angle lens. These tools enable you to make video calls, with face-tracking technology ensuring that you are always in shot.
The gadget measures 246.6 x 240.5 x 37.5 mm (9.7 x 9.5 x 1.5-in) and has 90 to 120° adjustable screen elevation. You can use buttons on the top of the device to switch the gadget on or off, adjust the volume and control the microphone. A button on the back of the device can hide the camera for additional privacy controls.
You can now pre-order the Xiaomi Smart Home Screen 10 for 949 yuan (~US$146). After this pre-sale period, the price will increase to 999 yuan (~US$154). It is currently unclear whether or when Xiaomi could launch this device in other markets.
