TCL's latest Android TVs will be the first in Europe to support Apple AirPlay and HomeKit
It has been revealed that TCL has partnered with Apple to bring AirPlay 2 and HomeKit compatibility to some of its latest European Android TVs. The models C735, C835 and C935, announced earlier this month, will be the first Google TVs to have these features in Europe.
Apple AirPlay 2 will enable you to share videos, photos, music and other content wirelessly to your TV from an iOS or Mac device. This could be a way for you to stream media from services not supported directly on the TV.
The Apple HomeKit features include turning your TV on and off and switching between HDMI inputs through a connected smart device or using Siri voice commands. These Apple features join similar Google Chromecast and Google Home tools already available on TCL devices.
Some North American TCL TVs already have these Apple features, as do several Roku models from the company. TCL broke the news in a recent presentation to FlatpanelsHD. The 2022 TCL TV models C735, C835 and C935 will be available in Europe by next month.
